I am a bisexual cisgender woman who is passionate about providing support for other members of the LGBTQ community. I have experience working with clients with a range of sexual identities, gender identities, and relationship structures. My goal is to create a space where you feel affirmed and safe working on any presenting issues that are important to you–I want to follow your lead regarding how much we focus on your identities in treatment. I aim to be an effective ally to transgender and gender nonconforming people. I have experience writing letters of support for gender affirming medical treatment and do not require clients to engage in ongoing therapy before obtaining letters of support. My dissertation focused on transgender and gender nonconforming clients’ experiences with getting letters, and I try to incorporate lessons from that study into my practice by respecting clients’ autonomy and collaborating with clients to work toward treatment goals.
