I have worked as a radical activist, educator, and service provider for over twelve years with a focus on trans, genderqueer, queer, and femme identities, trans wellness, (dis)ability/accessibility, and art-focused self-care. In 2008, I founded the Midwest’s first multi-state trans health organization, Heartland Trans Wellness Group, where I served as Executive Director and Program Facilitator for seven years. While at Heartland, I developed a model for peer lead trans support groups which has been implemented in multiple cities and became an established social justice educator on trans activism, cultural responsibility, and deconstructionist harm reduction. As a therapist, I am committed to building safer spaces where people feel supported, validated, and empowered. I currently work at a social justice mental health organization called RECLAIM where I serve youth and adults ages 13-26. I specialize in trans, genderqueer, and queer identities, sexuality and partnering, negotiating (dis)ability, and group work. My areas of practice are centered on mood, anxiety, and dissociative conditions, self-harm and suicidality, trauma, and Native American community needs. I work with an informed consent model and strongly advocate depathologization of gender identity. I am committed to servant leadership and have a strong passion for radical community building as means of promoting wellness. I currently work as a therapist and transgender care specialist at RECLAIM, a mental health organization for LGBTQ youth.
