Lauren comes from a background in working with social justice nonprofit organizations. In California, she served on the board of a local LGBT political non-profit that focused its efforts on issues like anti-bullying and transgender justice. Lauren has campaigned for marriage equality in California and Oregon . Lauren believes that medicine and social justice should be intimately entwined. She has seen the flaws of how the mainstream healthcare system treats members of marginalized communities and hopes to provide an empowering and safer space for all individuals to receive quality healthcare.
