Sandra Laski has been an advocate to changing societal views and eliminate barriers to health care of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) and gender variant people for over a decade. She served on the board of Rainbow Health Initiative from 2003 to 2009. Sandra is an experienced psychotherapist serving diverse clients, including LGBT and gender variant people providing (individual, couples, families & group therapy. Currently, Sandra has her own provate practice and is an adjunct faculty member at St. Kate’s -St. Thomas School of Social Work.
Sandra received distinguished recognition for her work in helping establish health care services for USA Military service members and Veterans under the direction of the VHA Office of Patient Care Services and the Office of VHA LGBT programs.
” Served on national interdisciplinary team as trainer/consultant with the National VHA Transgender Workgroup, Patient Care Services, providing education to providers via SCAN-ECHO and to E-Consult Regional Teams (2011 to 2016).
” Awarded national LGBT Veteran Services ICARE Certificate by the Directors of LGBT Program, Office of Patient Care Services in recognition of her commitment to serve LGBT veterans and other beneficiaries as outlined in the VA mission (2015).
” Awarded Certificate of Appreciation by VHA Diversity and Inclusion Office for the development and published nationwide VA LGBT Patient Group Directory (2014).
” Serve on Central Region E-Consult interdisciplinary team providing consultation to providers on transgender medical and mental health care (2014 -2015).
