I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) specializing in working with “tweens”, teens, and adults. I have a Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University, and I am Nationally Certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Additionally, I am also a Registered Play Therapist.
I enjoy working with clients who are moving through major life transitions, such as transitioning from youth to adulthood, or from young adulthood into major life decisions, such as starting a family, buying a house, or starting a career. Additionally I specialize in LGBTQ issues and working with individuals and/or families that have been in the correctional system. I have a significant amount of experience working with LGBTQ+ couples, transgender individuals (both kids and adults) as well LGBTQ+ individuals. The past 3 years of my career have focused on this LGBTQ+ clients and trauma work. Not only do I work with the LGBTQ+ community I myself identify as a openly gay provider.
I believe that people’s desire to change comes from within and that therapy helps build empowerment, resilience, and a greater connection to ones inner self. It is a privilege and an honor to work with people and share in their journey. I strive to provide a safe place to explore your history and examine the impact of your experiences on your thinking, feelings, relationships, and behaviors. I can provide a judgement free, confidential space for you to process through issues and identify what you need to create a more healthy and balanced life.
