I’ve been working with the LGBTQIA+ community since I entered the field in 2005. I’m also a member of the community and know firsthand how difficult it can be to find an affirming therapist who *actually* gets it. I have specifically chosen to work in states with a need for more LGTBQIA+ therapists because it is hard out here, y’all. So many people claim to be affirming and then say and do things that just… aren’t. Some people are looking for a therapist who can help them get through the process of coming out. Others need to work through the trauma of their upbringing or their family’s response to their identify. Most people are just trying to learn to manage their anxiety, deal with depression, heal from their trauma, or figure out strategies to manage their ADHD and they also happen to be part of the community. Wherever you’re coming from, I’m happy to chat to see if we’re a good fit (as long as you’re in a state where I’m licensed) and go from there.
