Finn Lopez (they/them/he/him) joined the Out at Home program in 2023 as a therapist or Mental Health Clinician. Finn holds a master’s degree of Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine from Boston University’s School of Medicine and is in the process of working towards licensure.
Finn specializes in creative therapeutic applications and approaches, such as Narrative Therapy, Expressive Therapy, and movement-based therapy. Finn’s specialty and passion is with working to support the LGBTQIA+ population, focusing on trans-, gender queer, non-binary, and gender non-conforming experiences. Finn understands gender to be an individual experience and works with folks who are struggling with anxiety, depression, gender dysphoria, gender exploration, disordered eating behaviors, navigating gender identity, and sexuality. Finn has experience and knowledge in integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance Commitment Therapeutic practices with Queer theory and modern therapeutic perspectives. Finn identifies as a part of the LGBTQ community in multiple ways, as well as, Cuban American. Finn aims to work through a Person-Centered approach to empower the humanistic, multi-cultural experience of each client and work collaboratively to support them on their own journeys.
Finn also identifies as trauma informed, poly affirming, kink affirming, sex worker positive, body-affirming therapist. Finn’s hobbies include film photography, sports (specifically basketball and soccer), crafting, and spending time with friends.
