I am a huge advocate that mental health is health, and taking the first step into counseling is an act to be celebrated! I believe every person I work with is unique and I bring that into my practice to make counseling an individualized experience catered to every client. It is my belief that each person has the ability to grow no matter what stage of life they find themselves in. I regularly incorporate dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), which includes mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and more into my sessions in combination with other various approaches. Building relationships with my clients, and working together as a team throughout the therapeutic process is important to me.
I am currently a licensed associate counselor. I graduated from Rowan University with a BA Psychology degree, and then went on to get my M.Ed in School Counseling. After a few years in the field, I moved forward to earn a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Mental Health Counseling. I have worked with teenagers and young adults for the past five years struggling with anxiety, depression, adjustments, and transitions, and more. I hold a safe-zone certification specific to the LGBTQ+ community. I also participated in the OutCare program to further continue my cultural competence in the care of the LGBTQ+ community. My sessions are a safe place for all genders, ethnicities, abilities, religions, and sexual orientations. It is my belief that everyone has room to grow, I am highly dedicated to immersing myself in culturally competent care, staying up to date in the latest counseling practices, and attending professional development opportunities in the counseling community.
