As a Licensed Associate Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor, I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and adults. I specialize in treating those facing personal obstacles, such as depression, anxiety, emotional regulation, executive functioning, stress management, women’s issues, work/life balance, and self-esteem. While following a generally humanistic approach, my primary methods of treatment focus on client-centered counseling and elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy. I also tie in key components from dialectical-behavioral therapy (DBT), specifically mindfulness, as another means of treatment. As a counselor, I take great pride in recognizing the uniqueness of each individual person and encourage different types of client-centered techniques depending on the client’s personality and specific needs. My practice is rooted in creating a safe, genuine environment to empower clients towards their personal goals and overall growth.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and minor in Business Marketing from Rutgers University. I continued my education at Stockton University and earned my Master’s in Professional Counseling. I applied the knowledge gained from my education to my clinical internship, where I focused on working with adults, families, and adolescents with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorder at Families Matter in Villas, New Jersey. There I focused on creating curriculums for my adolescent clients that focused on self-esteem and executive functioning. Over the last year, I have expanded my skillset by providing telehealth therapy services in an outpatient setting. My goal as a clinician is to become well-versed and expand my skills as I develop from an associate therapist to a fully licensed clinician.
I am an LGBQIA and Trans Affirming Therapist. I pride myself on continually learning and attending specific courses related to working with clients in the LGBTQ+ community. Additionally, I am OutCare certified as culturally competent in the care of the LGBTQ+ community.
