Katie Lugar, DHSc, LSW, CNP is a three-time alum of Indiana State University (BSW ’15, MSW ’16, DHSc ’22), a licensed social worker, Doctor of Health Sciences, and certified nonprofit professional. She currently serves as the ISU Director of Multicultural Services and Programs in which she oversees the International Student Resource Center, La Casita Student Resource Center, LGBTQ+ Student Resource Center, Women’s Resource Center, Veteran’s Resource Center, multicultural student organizations, and equity and inclusion efforts on campus. She is a founding board member and currently Board President for the Pride Center of Terre Haute, a nonprofit LGBTQ+ community center in Terre Haute, Indiana. As President of the Pride Center, she oversees a variety of service areas including resource referrals, group support, access to health and wellness supplies, programming, educational trainings, policy advocacy and change, Terre Haute Pride Fest, and more. She earned certification from the Yale Mental Health Initiative for LGBTQ+ Affirmative Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and regularly engages in LGBTQ+ affirming training opportunities for her own professional development. Dr. Lugar has used this training to offer further training to Indiana healthcare providers to expand their own LGBTQ+ affirming care practices.
