“Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”
~~ George Bernard Shaw
As a professional therapist with 15 years of experience in diverse clinical settings, my passion has been to help my clients overcome their issues in order to create themselves and live their fullest and most amazing lives.
As human beings, when we experience trauma or stress, we often find ourselves without the tools to manage those difficult situations. I help my clients (children, adults and families) work through those experiences, address their feelings and empower themselves to create their best lives in a safe, understanding,culturally-sensitive and gender-inclusive space.
There is no one single approach to therapy, it is a highly individualized experience. I have been trained in a wide range of modalities. In addition, I serve clients in both English and Spanish.
My educational background includes a Master of Arts in Counseling and Clinical Psychology and Master of Education in Counseling and Clinical Psychology from Columbia University Teacher’s College. I also received a Bachelor of Arts in Education with a Minor in Psychology from Mount Saint Mary College.
I believe strongly in being an ally to my LGBTQIA clients. I strive to create an inclusive, safe, and non-judgmental space for my LGBTQIA clients to share. I have been proud to serve as a resource providing LGBTQIA-friendly counselling to members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and trans/gender diverse communities, including people who are intersex or identify as genderqueer, nonbinary or gender-questioning. The problems that LGBTQIA clients bring to counseling are both highly unique and specific to their LGBTQIA journey, as well as universal to all humans (such as anxiety, depression, etc.). I am committed to providing an accepting therapeutic environment for LGBTQIA clients and understanding and servicing their counseling needs.
