I believe clients are the experts in their own lives and my role is to empower clients to integrate what they already know with counseling resources to overcome the challenges they are facing. I help clients challenge perspectives that may be influencing feelings of being stuck, allow clients to have their story heard without judgement and build skills unique to their experience and needs.
I started my work in mental health as an advocate for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. I have worked as a therapist in private practice and community mental health. I have experience in group and individual settings with mild to severe mental illness. My experience includes working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families.
