I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) with a deep commitment to providing affirming, inclusive, and trauma-informed care to LGBTQ+ individuals and communities. My clinical approach is grounded in a relational, psychodynamic framework, with a strong emphasis on understanding how identity, systemic oppression, and early relational experiences shape present-day patterns in self-esteem, relationships, and emotional well-being.
I work with LGBTQ+ clients navigating a wide range of concerns, including identity exploration, coming out processes, internalized stigma, relationship and intimacy challenges, family dynamics, trauma, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. I aim to create a therapeutic space that is warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental—one where clients feel seen in the fullness of their identities and experiences.
My work is guided by an anti-oppressive and social justice-oriented lens. I actively consider the impact of intersecting systems of power—including heteronormativity, transphobia, racism, and class inequality—on mental health. I believe that many emotional struggles cannot be understood in isolation from these broader contexts, and I support clients in both processing their experiences and reclaiming agency and self-understanding.
In addition to talk therapy, I integrate somatic and mindfulness-based practices to support nervous system regulation and deepen mind-body awareness. This can be especially meaningful for LGBTQ+ clients who have experienced trauma, disconnection from the body, or chronic stress related to identity-based marginalization.
My training includes completing my MSW at the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, where I focused on clinical work with adults navigating trauma, identity, and relational challenges. I have experience working in outpatient mental health settings, supporting diverse clients across gender identities and sexual orientations. I am also engaged in ongoing training in somatic and body-based approaches to trauma, further strengthening my ability to support clients in holistic and embodied ways.
I am committed to continuous learning around LGBTQ+ affirming care, including staying informed on best practices for working with transgender and nonbinary clients, understanding evolving language and identity frameworks, and engaging in supervision and consultation to deepen culturally responsive and ethical care.
Above all, I view my clients as the experts of their own experiences. My role is to support, collaborate, and walk alongside them as they move toward greater self-understanding, healing, and connection.
