I do not pathologize clients symptoms from lived experiences. I do not diagnosis. To be truly trauma-informed one must accept diagnosis is pathologizing another’s lived experience. I believe symptoms are signals and evidence of the impact lived experiences have caused.
My practice is anti-pathologizing, trauma-informed, anti-colonization, and anti-capitalist. I am constantly questioning how one can be “in the system but not part of it.” I attempt to uphold these values in practice policies and procedures. Continously learning how to be a BIPOC and LGBTQ+ Ally that is more than performative.
Through genuine, and affirming care I support clients in developing an awareness of their symptoms as signals, help discover insights into the cause/effect their lived experiences have, rethink what we tell ourselves about our experiences, their impact, and who we are. I will support you in developing a deeply self compassionate relationship with yourself, dismantling negative thinking and behavioral patterns that stem from toxic societal norms/indoctrination.
I work with those who have experienced multiple traumas throughout their life time, are high achievers aka recovering perfectionist, neurodivergent, have been marginalized, oppressed, abused and are “system disruptors.”
Through our work, you will see that nothing is wrong with you. Diagnoses and labels will not define or reduce who you are. Despite oppressive systems, I will assist and support you in finding a way to cultivate your own path to a fulfilling life.
