I am a therapist in Decatur/Atlanta, GA, and the owner of a group practice called East Atlanta Counseling. My first passion as a therapist is helping clients to overcome shame and become more fully their true identity. I am a very relational, compassionate, attachment-based therapist who also loves to use humor and irreverence in sessions. Other than attachment-based, trauma-focused, relational therapy, I primarily use EMDR to help my clients work through past traumas that have led them to feel a lack of safety in their every day and in their relationships.
I frequently work with clients who identify as queer and have grown up in the religious South, where they often had to disconnect from parts of their identity in order to feel safe in their families and friend groups. My joy is to help them recognize the love and acceptance that they truly deserve as they begin to see the young child parts of them who just needed to receive love and safety, not shame and judgment. I see my clients have more self-love and compassion, a stronger sense of self, and better relationships where they can actually feel that they deserve to be treated as worthy of being beloved.
I have also received advanced trainings to better support clients who are trans.
