As Mom to LGBTQ+ youth, I have a strong passion for creating spaces that are affirming and safe for everyone. I created a space for LGBTQ+ youth to teach community organizing skills and self-advocacy. The youth were successful in securing GSA clubs within the schools, a PFLAG group in the community, and organizing the county’s first Pride event, including a drag performance. I advocate at the State level against harmful legislation against the LGBTQ+ community.
