You’re in the right place if: – You’ve ever felt unheard, misunderstood, or different in how you experience personal relationships. – You’re exhausted and burned out from “masking” personally or professionally. – You’ve experienced family, cultural, or religious trauma from not fitting the mold. – You’re done with compartmentalizing key aspects of your belief systems, experiences, and identity from a fear of being judged. – You’re worried a therapist will pathologize your relationship styles.
My approach is warm and nonjudgmental with a specific focus on LGBTQ+ issues. I also address the specialized challenges of the kink and poly communities, as well as areas where all three communities can intersect. My approach combines the power of mindfulness, bodily attunement and cognitive exploration, promoting self-acceptance and making space to process feelings in a safe and empathetic manner. Instead of focusing on a single prescriptive approach, we’ll work together to find the unique combination of tools that best address your specific needs. Through empowerment and support, you will define your own journey on your own terms.
The desire to offer kink, poly, and queer affirming therapy was my motivation to become a therapist in the first place. I witnessed a significant lack of understanding and pathologizing from other therapists on this topic over the years in my own therapy. It felt isolating and encouraged shame. I never wanted anyone else to have that feeling. I am a huge proponent of the idea of chosen family and I think when approached mindfully and with clarity, polyamory can provide that sense of community and belonging.
