Hello! As a queer, nonbinary psychologist, I am passionate about helping LGBTQ clients find empowerment through identity, slow down to become more attuned to their bodies and minds, foster a greater sense of self-compassion, and examine the impacts of relationships and cultural context. I invite you to read further to see if I may be a good fit for what you’re looking for in a therapist.
I am a Licensed Psychologist at Panorama Therapy, where I work with adults (18+ years-old) for short- and long-term individual psychotherapy. Regarding my clinical/psychotherapy work, I am a generalist – which means I feel comfortable helping folks work through a variety of presenting concerns, such as depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, trauma, or identity-based stress or discrimination (e.g., sexism, racism, etc.). However, many folks find me because I have a strong specialization in working with individuals from the LGBTQ+ community, including those who want to explore their identity, people who want extra help coping with non-affirming environments/people, or folks who simply want to have their identity recognized and affirmed while getting help with something not directly to their sexual orientation/gender identity. I also have training in writing referral letters for people seeking gender-affirming medical care, and I can provide continued support through one’s transition.
My LGBTQ-affirming approach to therapy is informed by multiple sources, including my social justice-focused graduate training (I received my Doctor of Psychology degree from Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky) and my personal identity as a queer nonbinary person. I am also heavily invested in staying up-to-date with the latest LGBTQ+ research, and I conduct my own research projects that focus on the within-group dynamics of the LGBTQ community (although this has become a less routine part of my professional life now). Additionally, I am a member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), the Transgender Professional Association for Transgender Health (TPATH), and the American Psychological Association’s Society for the Psychology of Sexual Orientation and Gender Diversity.
Please check out my linked website for additional information about my background and details for how to start therapy together. Please note I am only able to see clients via telehealth/virtual. I can see clients in Texas, Delaware, and states that have approved PSYPACT.
