My experience seeing LGBTQ…clients in both private and other clinical settings began in 2005. I now see mainly individuals 18yrs and older online. Working and training in 3 hospitals gave me experience with a broad range of familiarity with serious psychological conditions, while working in clinics and privately has given me familiarity with a range of non-hospital clients’ issues ranging from trauma and PTSD, depression, relationship, career and aging issues.
I have always had a diverse practice, and welcome diverse clients.
I know what it is like to live in an oppressive legal and political climate, as is current in Florida, and what it’s like to live in a climate of LGBTQ+ oppression, political and psychological violence. I remember how it was before most gay rights were recognized and what a closet feels like. As this time continues, I am here to help the community with the effects of recent changes, and psychological challenges generally.
I am putting this listing up partly because I recognize how difficult it can be to find LGBTQ+ therapists who can practice in an affirming way.
I do not take insurance in order to avoid many restrictions on my practice, especially now with growing legal and governmental restrictions on who may get help.
I have af fee and will sometimes work at a reduced fee for clients who show a need for financial assistance.
