Hi, I am Megan and I am the founder of Allay Therapy, which is a private practice specializing in providing trauma informed, LGBTQ+ affirming and non-judgment counseling to individuals and couples. Prior to entering private practice, I worked for nearly a decade in a variety of community based organizations, ranging from LGBTQ+ focused work to youth development and housing services.
I earned my Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work at the Silberman School of Social Work through Hunter College. I hold an additional Master’s Degree in General Psychology with a Research Emphasis from the University of North Florida.
I have obtained post graduate trainings in CBT, psychoanalytic theory, psychodynamic therapy and EMDR, all of which I incorporate into my work. Additionally, I find relational and person-centered approaches to be helpful in establishing a space in which you can feel safe enough to begin to address your concerns. I work in an affirming and collaborative approach, finding a balance between holding a space where you can begin to truly hear yourself and providing direct feedback.
