I am a board-certified infectious disease physician and HIV specialist with more than a decade of experience providing comprehensive, affirming care to LGBTQ+ individuals, particularly people living with HIV. My clinical career has been deeply shaped by caring for LGBTQ+ patients across the full spectrum of identity, including gay, bisexual, queer, transgender, and gender-diverse individuals, many of whom face intersecting barriers related to stigma, racism, housing insecurity, trauma, and structural inequities in healthcare.
I currently serve as a Medical Director at a Ryan White–funded HIV clinic, where my work centers on delivering trauma-informed, patient-centered, and culturally responsive care. My practice prioritizes gender-affirming, sex-positive, and harm-reduction–based approaches, with an emphasis on long-term trust, autonomy, and shared decision-making. I routinely provide care related to HIV prevention and treatment (including PrEP and ART), sexually transmitted infections, viral hepatitis, primary care for people living with HIV, and chronic disease management in LGBTQ+ populations.
My professional focus includes addressing health disparities affecting LGBTQ+ communities, particularly those disproportionately impacted by HIV. I have extensive experience caring for transgender and gender-diverse patients within HIV primary care settings and work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure affirming referrals and continuity of care. I am committed to using inclusive language, respecting chosen names and pronouns, and creating a clinical environment where patients feel safe, heard, and empowered.
In addition to clinical care, I am actively engaged in LGBTQ+ health education, advocacy, and quality improvement. My work includes provider education on HIV primary care guidelines, implementation of evidence-based practices, and initiatives aimed at improving access, retention, and equity in care for marginalized populations. I regularly participate in continuing medical education related to HIV medicine, LGBTQ+ health, and health equity, and I collaborate on research and programmatic efforts focused on improving outcomes for people living with HIV.
At the core of my practice is a commitment to affirming care that recognizes each patient’s lived experience, identity, and goals. I strive to create a healthcare relationship grounded in respect, dignity, and trust, where LGBTQ+ patients can receive high-quality medical care without fear of judgment or discrimination.
