Sam (she/they) is a Licensed Clinical Professional Art Therapist (LCPAT) and Board-Certified Registered Art Therapist (ATR-BC) in Maryland. Sam supervises graduate students working towards becoming art therapists and professional counselors. Sam earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art from Towson University of Maryland in 2016 and Master’s Degree in Art Therapy from Notre Dame of Maryland University in 2021.
Sam started her career as an art educator working in public schools in 2016 and was inspired by school counselors to begin a career in art therapy, which she began practicing in 2018 at a nonprofit hospice center and later pediatric oncology and hematology inpatient unit. Sam has experience working with children as young as 6 years old to the last stages of life in hospice and bereavement care. Her journey as a creative individual living with Type 1 Diabetes inspires her commitment to supporting others through trauma-based art therapy.
