
I am a licensed clinical psychologist and the founder of Rise Psychology NYC. I provide warm, practical therapy for teenagers (13+), adults, and older adults. I specialize in health psychology, which means I help people cope with the emotional toll of medical conditions like cancer, chronic pain, and sleep disorders. My goal is to empower you to take an active role in your own care and well-being. My training at the University of Massachusetts Boston focused deeply on social justice. Because of this, I don’t look at your struggles in a vacuum. I look at how the world and your surroundings affect your mental health, and I can help you advocate for yourself, including handling paperwork for short-term disability or FMLA leave when you need a break to heal.
As a cisgender woman of color, an Asian American from an immigrant background, and an LGBTQIA+ ally, I know how hard it can be to navigate different worlds and identities. I know that queer and trans individuals—especially queer and trans People of Color (QTPOC)—face unique stresses and barriers to finding safe, respectful healthcare. In my practice, welcoming and celebrating who you are is the foundation of everything we do. You will never have to explain or defend your humanity here. Whether you are exploring your identity, dealing with family stress, or managing a tough medical diagnosis, I provide a safe, down-to-earth space where you can focus on healing.
I was trained in English and use it as my primary language, but I also speak conversational Cantonese, which helps me connect more deeply with folks from bicultural backgrounds. To make therapy easy to fit into your life, I offer secure video sessions for anyone living in New York or New Jersey. I also see clients in person at my office spaces in Midtown and Brooklyn as I move my practice fully to Brooklyn. No matter how we meet, I am here to help you unpack your pain and build a life that feels meaningful and true to you.
