I believe therapy is a collaborative journey, and that you are the expert on your own life. My role as a counselor is to walk alongside you, help you make sense of your experiences, and support you in creating a life that feels authentic and meaningful to you. I believe in showing up authentically in therapy and in my everyday life, and I strive to create a space where you can do the same.
I am an LPC-Associate with a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University, which I completed in July 2026. I have been working with counseling clients for approximately a year. Before becoming a counselor, I spent 22 years as a certified and licensed athletic trainer, working with people across a wide range of ages, backgrounds, and abilities. That experience taught me the importance of building trust, listening without judgment, meeting people where they are, and recognizing that every person has their own unique strengths and challenges.
My primary areas of focus include LGBTQIA+ counseling, trauma, and neurodivergence. I enjoy working with all members of the LGBTQIA+ community and am passionate about providing an affirming environment where clients can explore identity, relationships, self-acceptance, and the challenges that can come with navigating a world that does not always understand or affirm who they are. I am a member of the Sexuality and Gender Identity and Expression (SAIGE) Division of the American Counseling Association and am currently completing the SAIGE Rainbow Certificate program as part of my ongoing commitment to LGBTQIA+ affirming and culturally responsive counseling.
As an asexual and neurodivergent person myself, I understand the value of having a space where you can talk openly about experiences that may be difficult to explain to others. I believe authenticity is an important part of a meaningful life, while also recognizing that being completely open about who you are is not always safe or possible. Sometimes authenticity means being open and visible; other times it means protecting yourself until it is safe to do so. I believe therapy can help you determine what authenticity, safety, self-acceptance, and connection look like for you.
I work with teens and adults, both individuals and couples. My approach is individualized because I don’t believe there is a single therapeutic style that works for everyone. I tailor our work to your personality, needs, goals, and circumstances rather than expecting you to fit into a particular therapeutic model. I strive to create a counseling relationship built on collaboration, respect, curiosity, and genuine connection.
I also believe that therapy does not always have to be serious or heavy. When appropriate, I use humor in sessions because sometimes laughter can help us feel more comfortable, build connection, and make difficult conversations a little easier. My goal is to create a space where you can be honest, imperfect, curious, and fully human.
Whether you are exploring your identity, navigating LGBTQIA+ experiences, processing trauma, understanding yourself as a neurodivergent person, working through relationship concerns, or simply trying to figure out what comes next, you don’t have to navigate it alone. I would be honored to walk alongside you.
