Location: Remote, within the continental US, Alaska, or Hawaii or paired with a partnered organization or board member
Hours: Minimum of 35 hours/week for at least 8 weeks
Period: Summer (Flexible Start/End Date)

Overview of the Role:

We are currently looking for interns with diverse identities, experiences, and perspectives who are willing to promote OutCare’s vision and goals as we move into our ninth year as an organization. People looking for unique and meaningful ways to strengthen their roots in LGBTQ+ communities via community programming and outreach, research, health equity, and relationship building will benefit significantly from working with OutCare. Responsibilities may include conducting research, analyzing data, assisting with administrative tasks, supporting marketing and communications, attending meetings, and collaborating with national and local partners, board members, team members, and volunteers. 

Primary Responsibilities:

• Helping spread national awareness of OutCare’s LGBTQ+ initiatives
• Assist with state-specific teams and endeavors
• Coordinating with volunteers and partners
• Supporting diversity and intersectionality efforts
• Assisting with partnerships/collaborations and fundraising at local and national levels with events, donations, and sponsorships
• Supporting marketing and communication efforts, including email, social media, and traditional media, to support organizational and fundraising goals and priorities
• Perform assignments relating to program development, redevelopment initiatives, and internal process development 
• More duties as needed

Requirements:

• Undergraduate or graduate students and/or medical or residency program students who seek to gain hands-on experience in grassroots community development within a national organization
• Residence within the U.S.

Considerations:

• Passion and commitment for OutCare’s missions as well as LGBTQ+ care and equity
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs as well as WordPress, database management, and social media tools 
• Experience working in nonprofit, fundraising, and philanthropy spaces
• Experience in research and programming (clinical and/or non-clinical)
• Experience in event planning and managing
• Experience working collaboratively as well as independently
• Verbal and written communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
• Effective time management skills to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks efficiently
