In therapy I value equity, collaboration, humor, and patience. I believe in a holistic approach where we consider the individual not as a set of symptoms, but as a whole, complex, capable human being. You are the expert in your own life– in our work I will strive to provide support, reflection, and camaraderie as you seek out a life that fulfills you.
My work with the queer community reflects my values– that everyone deserves a safe, fulfilling life. Providing comprehensive, gender affirming mental health care is harm reduction. I work to understand and conceptualize the world we live in as it relates to our individual well-being.
I’ve spent the last decade working in crisis mental health services and community organizing and I take the implications of the social, political, and cultural contexts in which we live seriously. I have experience working with complex trauma and PTSD as well as those with traditionally marginalized identities. I am particularly interested in working with disenfranchised grief, generational trauma, and non-traditional family structures. My practice is trauma-informed with a strong intersectional feminist and systemic lens. I incorporate Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Emotionally-Focused Therapy into my approach. I have additionally completed Level 1 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
