Hi, I’m glad you’re here.
Being a person is a lot sometimes. Relationships are complicated, boundaries can be uncomfortable, and apparently we’re supposed to balance all of that while keeping up with everyday life?! Therapy gives you a space to put some of that down, figure out what’s actually yours to carry, and focus on what you need. The good news? You don’t have to have it all figured out before you get here.
You don’t need to know exactly what to say, have your feelings neatly organized, or be ready to unpack your entire childhood in the first session, phew! You can show up overwhelmed, frustrated, unsure, or just plain tired of trying to hold everything together.
We’ll start wherever you are.
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas, and I’ve been seeing clients since 2009. My style is laid back, conversational, and compassionate, with a healthy dose of humor and honesty when the moment calls for it. I believe therapy should feel like a place where you can let your guard down, be yourself, and talk about the hard stuff without worrying about feeling judged. Our conversations might include laughter, a few uncomfortable truths, and moments that make you think, “Well, I hadn’t looked at it that way before.” I believe in being honest and straightforward while also giving you the space to explore things at your own pace.
I typically work with adults and older teens navigating relationships, trauma, boundaries, people pleasing, and the complicated emotions that come with being human. I also have additional training in perinatal mental health, and a particular interest in supporting individuals navigating infertility and the emotional challenges surrounding pregnancy and parenthood.
I believe it’s impossible to separate mental health from the world we live in. Things like discrimination, systemic barriers, and our individual experiences have an impact on us. I try to be mindful of what each person brings into the counseling room and create a space where people feel seen, respected, and supported. That commitment extends beyond my work as a therapist too. I believe in continuing to learn, showing up as an ally in our communities, and advocating for equity and inclusion outside of the counseling room.
My approach isn’t one size fits all. I draw from several therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, and interpersonal and feminist perspectives. But more importantly, I believe in meeting you where you are and figuring out together what actually works for you.
Some days, therapy means digging into the deeper stuff. Other days, it’s about figuring out how to set a boundary without feeling guilty, stop taking responsibility for everyone else’s feelings, or simply make it through a really hard season.
You don’t have to be in crisis to deserve support. And you don’t need to have the perfect words to get started.
Come as you are. We’ll take it from there.
