I am an independently licensed clinical counselor in both Ohio and Kentucky, specializing in the treatment of sexual dysfunction, sexual pain, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex PTSD, and mood disorders. I am a cisgender, heterosexual white female and I do not identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community but I do proudly (& loudly) consider myself an ally. My goal as an allied therapist is to learn from, follow, listen & amplify queer voices to better understand their experiences to understand how to best advocate & ally for the community as a person and a therapist.
My commitment as an allied therapist is to stay up to date on trainings related to best practice, new research, local & national resources, to engage in political advocacy for equal rights and to speak out and write lawmakers when rights are questioned or taken away that impact people in the LGBTQIA+ community AND to provide a safe and supportive space for my clients to do their own healing work. I have worked with many folx within the LBGTQIA+ community surrounding relationship concerns, sexual dysfunction, sexual exploration, CNM (consensual non-monogamy), and gender dysphoria.
I have taken the following courses and trainings: Gender, Orientation, and Identity Issues by Brent Satterly, Ph.D., LCSW, and Don Dyson, Ph.D. (2022); Queer Affirmative Sex Therapy by Margaret Nichols, Ph.D. (2021); BDSM/Kink & Consensual Non-Monogamy Competency by Carrie Jameson, LCPC & Jason Best, LCSW (2020); Diversities in Sexual Expression & Lifestyles by Marilyn Volker, Ph.D. (2020) as part of my training to become a Certified Sex Therapist (CST).
I am a current member of the following professional organizations: American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT); International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health (ISSWSH); International Society for Sexual Medicine (ISSM)
