Melanie Thomas-Castillo, PsyD, (she/her) is a clinical psychologist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience at University of Cincinnati (UC). She completed her doctorate in psychology (PsyD) at Xavier University. She completed her internship at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska and postdoctoral fellowship at University of Cincinnati University Health Services. Dr. Thomas-Castillo provides outpatient psychotherapy, ADHD and learning disorder assessments, and supervision to psychology graduate students and psychiatry residents. Since beginning at UC, Dr. Thomas-Castillo has started a psychotherapy clinic for the LGBTQIA+ community. Within this clinic she provides therapy for individuals working through issues related to sexual orientation, gender identity, and relationship concerns. She also provides assessments and letters for gender-affirming care for transgender and gender diverse individuals. Dr. Thomas-Castillo is a member of World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), American Psychological Association Division 44 (Society for the Psychology of Sexual Orientation and Gender Diversity) and of the Ohio Psychological Association LGBTQIA+ subcommittee.
