Queer identity has shaped my life for as long as I can remember, and it continues to shape the way I show up for the people I work with. I grew up in rural Nevada, where I saw both the resilience and the hardship that LGBTQ+ people face. My mom opened our home to gay and lesbian kids who had been kicked out, and that taught me early what safety, protection, and unconditional care can look like. Those experiences built a lifelong commitment to affirmation, equity, and the belief that everyone deserves a place where they are seen and valued.
My counseling work grows out of those roots. I support teens, young adults, and adults navigating anxiety, OCD, trauma, grief, identity development, and major life transitions. Sessions are collaborative and grounded in strengths, drawing from CBT, ACT, DBT, mindfulness, creative approaches, and trauma informed care. My training at One Love Agency in Idaho focused on gender identity development, culturally responsive practice, and trauma resilience, and I continue to build on that foundation through ongoing education.
Because of my background and community experience, I am especially attuned to the needs of LGBTQ+ people in Oregon, including rural and underserved areas where access to affirming care can be limited. Growing up in a small Northeastern Nevada town taught me how much it matters to have even one safe place to land. My practice centers resilience, authenticity, and connection. It is a space where identity can be explored, relationships repaired, and healing supported at a pace that feels right.
Counseling with me is not about fixing what is wrong. It is about honoring lived experience, building resilience, and supporting real, authentic growth. You are always welcome to ask about my sexuality or my lived experience during a consultation. I believe transparency helps people find the right fit and feel grounded from the start.
