she/her New York Research Assistant at the Feinstein Institutes Shelby Brage (she/her) graduated with a BA from New York University and completed her pre-medical education at the City University of New York. An aspiring physician, Shelby is presently working in clinical research while preparing her application for medical school. One of 25 students selected into the summer research internship at the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research at Hofstra/Northwell, Shelby also conducts research at the Mt. Sinai Center for Transgender Medicine and Surgery and the Interdisciplinary Transgender Clinic at University of Colorado School of Medicine. An advocate for LGBTQ+ health, Shelby has worked extensively to improve access to gender affirming surgeries as a volunteer care coordinator at Queer Care Inc. She is an affiliate of Medical Student Pride Alliance (MSPA) and serves as a NY state representative for OutCare Health. Shelby also volunteers in the Friendly Visitor program through SAGE.
