I’m Monica (she/her), neurodivergent therapist, world’s biggest chocolate chip cookie enthusiast (i know where you can get the best one in toronto!), and a proud cat mom. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to live, play, and grow in Hyderabad, India. Now based in Tkaronto (Toronto), I live and practice as a settler on the unceded lands of the Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, and Wendat peoples. I look forward to walking this journey together.
My clinical work is grounded in a deep respect for diversity and the understanding that identity, power, and systemic forces shape our lived experiences. I approach therapy through a culturally responsive and trauma-informed lens, recognizing how factors such as race, culture, gender identity, sexual orientation, relationship structure, ability, spirituality, and socioeconomic context influence mental health and access to care. I’m passionate about the in-between moments – the space between what is “right” or “wrong,” “good” or “bad,” where what’s familiar no longer fits and the path forward is still unfolding. I help clients explore these spaces with curiosity and compassion, creating room for uncertainty, self-discovery, and new possibilities. For many, that may mean exploring identity, reimagining relationships, reconnecting with parts of themselves or making career or life changes,. Together, we slow things down to untangle what feels complicated, notice what truly matters to you, and find ways to move forward that feel authentic and aligned with your values and goals.
For partner work, I work with folks who are looking to improve communication, deepen and expand their intimacy, process and navigate life transitions, and more. My space is welcoming multiple partners (up to 3 people in the space).
For individual therapy, I work with folks who are exploring their identity, navigating complex trauma, experiencing life transitions (that maybe feel all-consuming), and folks curious about the way their lived experiences impact who they are and how they engage with the world.
Sessions with me often include a brief check-in, a chat about what might be helpful for us to explore (unless there’s something we’ve been working on!), and then we dive in. I hope to create a space is one where you can show up fully.
Whoever you are, whatever you have been through, you are welcome here. You are the expert when it comes to knowing who is the right fit. Reach out to book a brief consult with me.
As a POC queer person, finding a POC queer ally in Monica has been incredibly affirming. She is gentle, supportive, and so real in the way she shows up in sessions. I tend to overanalyze a lot, and working with her has helped me slow down and come back into the present much more often. I was nervous because of my previous experiences, but her approach made such a difference. She creates a space that feels safe, and genuinely welcoming and understanding. She’s also funny, which makes sessions feel natural and human. I would easily recommend her to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and affirming therapist.
