Hi there, and welcome! I am a NYC-based psychotherapist, professor, and clinical supervisor, providing virtual and in-person therapy steps away from Bryant Park. I work with teens and adults looking to address anxiety, stress, obsessive thinking/behaviors, depression, perfectionism, and relational conflict. I have a particular passion and experience in working with gay men and the LGBTQ+ community.
My approach to therapy is interdisciplinary and person-centered. My work is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which helps clients recognize and challenge patterns of maladaptive thoughts and behaviors. I utilize Psychodynamic Theory to gain insight into archaic defense mechanisms that inhibit one’s inner life and interpersonal relationships. I also specialize in Exposure Response Prevention (Ex/RP), which can be used to help clients gain autonomy over obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors related to OCD.
In our work together, I hope to form a therapeutic relationship with each client that can withstand challenging one’s perspectives and exploring intimate topics in a non-judgmental manner.
I received my MSW from Fordham University’s Graduate School of Social Service. I started my career working and training at the Institute for Human Identity (IHI), the nation’s first and longest-running non-profit dedicated to providing LGBTQ+ affirmative therapy. I have also trained in Ex/RP for OCD at The University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine. Outside of private practice, I am an adjunct clinical professor at Fordham University, and I volunteer with the NASW-NY to combat antisemitism in social work.
