Hi! My name is El. I’m a midwife providing fertility care for queer people in the San Francisco Bay Area. I decided to specialize in fertility care after working for years as a home birth midwife to the queer community, where I would often hear stories from my clients about how difficult it was to receive fertility care that was tailored to their unique needs and experiences. Most mainstream fertility clinics are geared towards straight couples experiencing infertility. Many queer people who are looking to a build a family have perfectly healthy are normal fertility, but are simply lacking sperm in the equation. I founded my solo practice, Bay Fertility Care, with the specific intent to meet the needs or queer individuals and families who are on the path towards parenthood. I offer a less medicalized approach to fertility care that is rooted in the lived experiences of queer people and queer family building.
