My name is Matt Mazick, and I’m a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) in the state of Maryland. I identify as a gay cisgender man and have worked in mental health for over 3 years. The foundation of my work is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). The first therapy sessions with me will focus on building connection and discovering more about a client’s history and what brings them to therapy. Through this discovery phase, we’ll label and embrace client values, uncover client’s intrusive thoughts and core beliefs, and identify tools and skills needed to address a client’s therapeutic goals. Each session will cater to a client’s immediate and long-term needs with an aim to gain clarity and inspire progress in ways unique to their life. Whether that be learning new skills to stave off a panic attack or gaining new perspectives on particular aspects of a client’s life, I’m here to provide a safe space.
