Hello! My name is John Burns, MSW, LCSW (he/him/his), and I am a licensed psychologist based in Charlotte, NC. I have been a licensed clinical social worker for more than 30 years and has worked in hospital settings, substance abuse treatment units, family therapy clinics, and Employee Assistance Programs. I specializes in the areas of trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and depression.
I founded Montgomery Counseling Group after first studying Milton Erickson’s work in graduate school. I brought together therapists in Charlotte, NC, who share this deep respect for the individual nature of each person’s experience and healing process.
