I provide couples, family, and individual therapy for LGBTQ+ clients and have worked with this population throughout my career. My practice is affirming and grounded in an understanding of the unique stressors LGBTQ+ individuals and relationships face, including minority stress, identity development, family dynamics, and the impact of stigma.
I have training and experience working with LGBTQ+ clients across a range of clinical concerns, including relationship conflict, trauma, and identity related issues. This includes work with trauma connected to orientation, gender identity, and religious environments, as well as the ways these experiences affect attachment, self-concept, and relationships.
For couples and family work, I use Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Structural Family Therapy. For individual work, I integrate EMDR, DBT, and clinical hypnotherapy as appropriate. Treatment is adapted to the client, with a focus on creating an environment that is direct, respectful, and affirming while addressing the patterns that are impacting functioning and relationships.
