This is a space where you don’t have to shrink, filter, or perform. My approach to counseling is grounded in the belief that LGBTQ+ identity is not something to fix—it’s something to reclaim, understand, and live fully. Too many people have been told—by family, culture, or religion—that who they are is wrong. Therapy here actively pushes back against that. As a Certified LGBTQIA+ Affirmative Care Specialist, the work is intentionally affirming, trauma-informed, and rooted in real understanding of identity, minority stress, and the psychological impact of living in systems that haven’t always made space for you. Work with LGBTQ+ clients often focuses on rejection and family-of-origin wounds, internalized shame and identity conflict, anxiety, depression, and emotional burnout, relationship and attachment struggles, body image and self-worth, navigating visibility, safety, and belonging.
There is particular depth in working with LGBTQIA+ clients navigating identity development, as well as those unpacking religious trauma. For many, faith wasn’t just a belief system—it was a place where harm happened. Therapy becomes a place to deconstruct what hurt, hold on to what still matters, and rebuild something that actually fits. This work is not surface-level. It’s direct, engaged, and focused on real change. Approaches include cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Somatic and mindfulness-based practices. Ongoing clinical focus includes: LGBTQIA+ affirmative therapy and identity integration, trauma treatment and EMDR, minority stress and resilience, eligious trauma and spiritual reconstruction.
Sessions are collaborative, honest, and grounded. You won’t be judged for who you are—but you will be challenged to grow into itThe The goal isn’t just symptom relief.. It’s self-trust. It’s clarity. It’s finally feeling like your life actually belongs to you.
