Helping others build their families is my passion, particularly LGBTQ+ families. I am a reproductive psychologist, a specialization that I have obtained over the last 18 years. As a Past-Chair of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine’s Mental Health Professional Group, creating best practices that keep both parents and future children in mind is essential. I’m a former board member of Rainbow Families, a DC-based organization that fills in the gaps, shares pathways to parenthood with people in the community, and creates connections among LGBTQ+ families. For the last 8 years, I have volunteered to run the Rainbow Families “Pre-Conception” group in addition to the “Expecting/Parenting” group. Facilitating the groups is my favorite thing to do each month. I identify as bisexual and am the parent to a lesbian daughter as well as a trans daughter. Their coming out was a celebration within the family. I love educating intended parents about special considerations of having a donor-conceived child. I have conducted many evaluations for other third-party arrangements, such as donors and gestational carriers.
