Hi there! I’m Esther (they/them), a queer, nonbinary Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with over 14 years of experience. I bring both my clinical training and my lived experience to every visit, and I absolutely love working with the queer community — we’re family, and it’s a privilege to walk alongside the people I serve.
My work is rooted in trauma-informed, gender-affirming care. I believe healing happens in relationship, so one of my deepest passions is creating a space where queer and trans folks can be vulnerable, be real, and build a connection with a provider they can trust and depend on. I intentionally create an inclusive space that is safe and welcoming to people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and relationship structures — being queer or trans is never something you have to explain or justify here. As a queer, nonbinary provider myself, I understand that identity, community, and belonging are inseparable from mental health, and I bring that perspective into evidence-based care delivered with cultural humility and compassion.
I take great satisfaction in helping clients navigate effective, individualized treatment for depression and mood disorders, anxiety, insomnia, neurodivergence (including ADHD and autistic experiences), and other mental health challenges.
I earned my MSN from Emory University and completed post-master’s training in Psychiatry at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). I am dually board certified by the ANCC as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC), and my background also spans emergency medicine, urgent care, and primary care.
I currently offer virtual (telehealth) visits only, caring for people who reside in California and New York, and am accepting new patients in California. Please see my website for details and scheduling. I look forward to connecting with you and supporting you as you move toward the life you want to live.
