I am a psychotherapist educator and researcher with qualifications including a PhD, Master of Philosophy, Master of Counselling and Applied Psychotherapy, Graduate Diploma in Social Science and Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning. I am also an Associate Professor and postgraduate counselling coordinator.
My approach is warm, collaborative, relational and trauma-informed. I provide LGBTQIA+ affirming counselling and welcome clients of diverse sexualities, gender identities, relationship structures, cultural backgrounds and abilities. I have professional experience working in mental health with the LGBTI Health Alliance, the Peak Organisation for LGBTI health in Australia and understand the impacts that stigma, discrimination, rejection, and social isolation can have on wellbeing.
I support clients with identity exploration, coming out, gender and sexuality concerns, relationships, family issues, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, burnout and major life transitions. My role is not to pathologise or change a person’s identity, but to provide a respectful, non-judgemental space to explore experiences and develop personally meaningful ways forward.
My academic and research interests include gender and identity, trauma-informed practice, positive psychology, grief and loss, and healing retreats.
