In general people who are experiencing anxiety, depression, and adjustment disorders seem to be the clients I am most successful with. People who are invested in doing the hard slow work for the long term gains. While I can provide some short term skills, long term skills will best support you throughout your life in both relationships with others and yourself.
I tend to use a solutions focused lens when collaborating with individuals about the challenges they are experiencing. I will provide some CBT skills however, they may help us get through the short term challenges while with our solutions focused lens we may find that you had the answer all along. I have recently also completed Internal Family Systems, Level 1 training.
This lens I believe is most helpful when understanding ourselves and our actions. My experience has been, once we accept all of our parts, even the parts that “appear” bad, then we create peace in our lives and those around us. Understanding my “gay” part has been essential in my journey of accepting myself, and being okay when I’ve had to let go of those who do not.
I invite you to come talk with me and see what work we may engage in and I also encourage you to speak up if you feel we are not the right fit. Helping you find you is what is most important to me.
