Anchor Health Initiative provides healthcare focused on the science of gender, sexuality, HIV/AIDS and infectious diseases. We are certified by the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association (GLMA) and the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH).
Our primary provider, Dr. A.C. Demidont is a transwoman that has high expertise in infectious diseases, HIV/AIDS treatment and transgender medicine. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease and has been certified as an HIV Specialist by the American Academy of HIV Medicine since 2008. Dr. A.C. Demidont also serves as a member of several HIV prevention task forces in Connecticut and as a member of Yale University’s Center for Interdisciplinary Research on AIDS New England Implementation Science Network.
Our other two providers are family nurse practitioners, Jurg Oggenfuss and Patricia Alfieri. Both have training in LGBTQ medicine as well as women’s health. Jurg Oggenfuss has extensive experience in HIV medicine, having been an HIV provider at AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin from 2009-2014. He has a passion for gay men’s health and has experience in medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for those with opioid addiction.
