I’m Adam G. Walterbach, a licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist providing LGBTQ+ affirming therapy in Denver and virtually throughout Colorado and California. I work with adults and couples, with a particular focus on gay men, LGBTQ+ clients, and professionals and entrepreneurs navigating relationships, identity, anxiety, and the pressure to meet others’ expectations.
My approach is thoughtful, direct, and collaborative. I’m interested in what happens after someone has found the language to describe who they are but still feels constrained by shame, loneliness, or the need for approval. In therapy, we can look closely at those patterns while making room for a fuller sense of self, stronger relationships, and a life that feels meaningful on your own terms.
As a gay man, I bring both personal perspective and clinical experience to my work with LGBTQ+ clients. I know that affirming care involves more than being accepting: it means understanding how family, culture, community, and past experiences can shape the way someone sees themselves and connects with others. I welcome conversations about sexuality and identity without assuming they are the source of every difficulty a client brings to therapy.
My private practice offers individual and couples therapy. I am licensed in Colorado and California and offer private-pay services. My rates for individuals are $195 for a 50-minute session and for couples it is $295 for a 50-minute session.
