While I do not have experiencing using treatment modalities specific to LGBTQAI+ people, I do use popular evidence-based practices and adapt them to support clients who identity as LGBTQAI+ as appropriate. I have a BS in Psychology with a minor LGBTQ Studies. I went on to get an MS in Clinical Psychology and focused on Gender Diverse people and Spirituality for my master’s thesis project. Some treatment modalities that I have used to support LGBTQAI+ clients include person-centered, psychodynamic, narrative and solution-focused approaches. I was inspired by OutCare to “level-up” my allyship after taking the TGI Affirming training. Since graduating with the MS degree, I have made efforts to stay connected to LGBTQAI+ community, whether it is through my personal relationships and attending community events and finding ways to be a source of support in my professional capacity via trainings, continued educational courses and supporting client’s who identify as such. In my personal time, I participate in faith-based groups that aim to spread an inclusive theology for queer folks. My goal is to be a clinician that creates a compassionate space for anyone that is looking for healing and growth.
