For over a decade, I have successfully formed therapeutic relationships with individuals or couples. I invest time to understand problems, and offer support to manage stressors and remove barriers. Your issues may arise from an inability to cope with the present due to stress, depression and anxiety; or from life transitions, sexual orientation, sexual dysfunction, grief, and substance use. My person-centered approach, will help you to find balance and the resilience to improve your ability to function better. I use my training and knowledge to create with you a solution to reflect your lifestyle choices.
I am a Registered Social Worker, with Master and Bachelor of Social Work degrees, and post graduate certifications in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Therapy, Interpersonal Mediation, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for Couples, Trauma Counselling, and Motivational Interviewing.
By day I am employed at a hospital, where I provide psychotherapy at an outpatient clinic to adults, of all ages, who represent diverse populations, and identify with various ethnic, religious and cultural communities that include refugees, newcomers and members of LGBTQIA communities.
I also work with patients who are chronically ill, and are admitted to the hospital’s mental health unit. I speak Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi, however, psychotherapy is conducted in English.
Currently due to Covid-19 restrictions, I am conducting confidential online sessions through a secure video link.
