I’m Amanda Jablon, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW #82020) based in Southern California. I’ve been in private practice for over a decade, working with individuals and couples throughout California via telehealth. I’m queer, and that informs both who I am as a clinician and who I show up as in the room.
A significant portion of my caseload has always been LGBTQ+ clients. Not because I market specifically to that community, but because queer people, and particularly queer women, have found their way to me consistently over the years. That kind of trust doesn’t happen by accident. It comes from actually understanding the territory: chosen family dynamics, the particular weight of late or non-linear identity development, the ways internalized shame shows up in relationships long after someone is out, and the specific relational patterns that emerge in queer partnerships.
I work with gay, lesbian, bisexual, queer, trans, and gender diverse clients, as well as people in ethically non-monogamous and polyamorous relationships. For ENM and poly clients, I bring real clinical familiarity with the structures, the specific stressors, and the communication challenges that come with non-traditional relationship agreements. You won’t need to spend your session explaining what a hinge partner is.
My clinical training includes Internal Family Systems, Emotionally Focused Therapy, the Gottman Method, somatic and trauma-informed approaches, EMDR, and cognitive and behavioral modalities. I’m a registered member of the Kink Aware Professionals directory through the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom (NCSF/KAP). My LGBTQ+ competency is primarily built from years of direct clinical experience, ongoing self-education, and personal familiarity with these communities.
I earned my MSW from the University of Southern California in 2014 and hold a BA in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Connecticut. I practice throughout California via telehealth.
What I can offer LGBTQ+ patients is a space that requires no translation. You won’t need to justify your identity, your relationship structure, or your choices. The work can start where it actually needs to start.
