I have spent the last 14 years as a family nurse practitioner caring for the queer/LGBTQIA+ community. As an out lesbian, I believe that I can identify with many members of our communities’ specific health needs. I began my nursing career as a registered nurse at Howard Brown Health Center in Chicago, IL for 3 years before transitioning to a role as a nurse practitioner in primary care, HIV medicine, and gender-affirming care in private practice for another 3 years. Upon moving back to my hometown in Peoria, IL, I became employed at University of IL College of Medicine-Peoria as an HIV provider. Within a few years, we expanded to PrEP services, gender-affirming hormone therapy, and LGBTQIA+ primary care to greater serve the needs of our central IL community. I am proud of our program and happy to help patients of all backgrounds! I believe in affirming every client as they are and helping them meet their healthcare and personal goals.
