Chase Morgan-Swaney (he/him), LPCC, NCC, CCMHC is an affirmative, celebratory, and liberatory licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC) at Arbor Sana Counseling & Wellness, Inc., a group private practice located on the westside of Cleveland, Ohio. He identifies as a queer (gay) cisgender man. Additionally, Chase is a doctoral candidate in the Counselor Education and Supervision Ph.D. program and part-time faculty within the School of Counseling at The University of Akron in Akron, Ohio. He holds a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Akron and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. In addition to his Ohio state clinical counseling license (#E.2202842), Chase is a national certified counselor (NCC) and a certified clinical mental health counselor (CCMHC) through the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC).
Chase specializes in serving the mental health, wellness, education, and career needs of LGBTGEQIAP+ adolescents (ages 13-17) and adults. He has experience working with all ages living with an array of mental health and substance use concerns in a mental health agency, a pediatric hospital, and a university training clinic. In his clinical work, Chase integrates relational-cultural theory with mindfulness-based and compassion-focused techniques. He routinely conducts individual and relational counseling as well as evaluations/letters for gender-affirming procedures in accordance with the current World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) Standards of Care.
Chase is actively involved in many national and state professional counseling organizations. He is the current Immediate Past President of the Society for Sexual, Affectional, Intersex, and Gender Expansive Identities of Ohio (SAIGEO), a division of the Ohio Counseling Association (OCA) and a state branch of the national SAIGE. In addition to being a published scholar, Chase has over fifty national, state, local, and invited presentations, most of which have focused on LGBTGEQIAP+ issues in counseling, clinical supervision, and social justice advocacy.
