I am a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in work with transgender and gender non-confirming clients, who make up 30-40% of my practice. I have been in practice since 1992. When I began seeing transgender clients in my practice as a counselor at Boise State University in 2006, I traveled to Portland State University, in Oregon, to attend a series of post-masters trainings to increase my knowledge base in transgender issues and therapeutic competence. I became a member of WPATH in 2011, and in 2016 I began the WPATH Foundations Courses, attaining WPATH Certification in 2018. I have worked with over 90 transgender clients ranging in age from 12 to 67. I volunteer with our local chapter of PFLAG, facilitating the group for parents of (mostly) transgender youth since 2017. I have also participated in local advocacy for transgender students in my school district.
